Mi Buenos Aires Querido
I’m back in a summer wonderland of Buenos Aires for the 4th time in 4 years. I wasn’t sure I’d make it today, since I left my passport at home with an hour and a half until boarding when I left the airport. Bear in mind that this is the middle of Seattle’s winter of discontent, from what I hear it hasn’t been this snowy or this cold in Seattle since 1990, or possibly earlier. Apparently, we don’t deal with snow very well. Fortunately my cab driver had a muscle car as far as cabs go, and gunned the engine at appropriate intervals.
I collapsed when I got to my apartment in Almagro, and decided to head out, despite it being Christmas day, and everything is more or less dead. I ended up seeing my friends Tasha and Michaud in a subway station randomly, which typifies my BA experience. Last year I probably ran into 7 people in the street that I knew.
This year promises to be interesting. With DanceHop.com in the works, and with my increasing connection into the scene, I feel like I´ll be busy, but having a blast. I look forward to wheeling and dealing to bring you guys the best dance gear while I´m down here.
